The “CAKE WAR”, presented by Cakegrrl.com, is a competition within the Sacramento Chef Challenge event. For 2012, the Cake War will feature three professional cupcake makers and three amateur cupcake makers in a head to head battle for pastry glory!
Rules
- Competitors will have three hours to create an original cupcake display based on a specific theme.
- One specialty ingredient must be included in the cupcakes.
- Competitors are allowed two assistants.
- Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony between 8:00pm and 8:30pm
Judging Criteria
Judging will be completed by two local culinary experts and event guests. Each display will be judged on the following:
- Taste & Quality
- Originality
- Connection to Theme
- Overall Presentation
- Personality & Theatrics

Are you a professional or an amateur cupcake creator? If you are a professional, please send me more information about yourself and your company and I will get back to you shortly with more information. If you are interested in competing as an amateur, there will be a preliminary competition through Cakegrrl.com to determine who will compete live at the Sacramento Chef Challenge. We will be posting the rules for the preliminary competition by the end of next week. I will send you a link when the rules go up if you like. Just let me know.
